I always used Dreamweaver when it was made by Macromedia, but didn't like the way it was heading initially when Adobe got their hands on it.
Still, Adobe continues to improve Dreamweaver, and Dreamweaver CS5 will be out in a month or two. Some of the ehancements in Dreamweaver CS5 include:
- Content Management System ( CMS ) support for frameworks like WordPress, Joomla!, and Drupal.
- CSS Inspection to easily display and toggle CSS properties
- Integration with Adobe BrowserLab which allows you to view dynamic web pages in various broswers, like IE, Safari, Firefox, etc.
- PHP Custom Class Code Hinting which helps you write PHP code easier
- Enhanced Subversion support for managing source control in teams
- Site Specific code hinting
- Simple website set-up that allows you to create websites on staged and networked servers.
I'd be interested in how the CMS support works, but other than that, nothing here appears really revolutionary that you can't already get from current products like: WebStorm and PhPStorm, Espresso, Coda, etc.
However, those developers using Adobe Dreamweaver have some features to look forward to in Dreamweaver CS5. Learn more here.
